Why is Bergen County allowing Pilgrim to survey on our parkland?

Pilgrim Pipeline is in Mahwah right now, completing their surveying along the proposed route for their pipelines, with Bergen County’s blessing.
Bergen County Executive Tedesco and Administrator Novelli have known about this for months and have refused to do anything. They are handing over our park land for a private oil transport company to threaten an already compromised water supply, violate Highlands preservation area restrictions, destroy hiking trails, and make a HUGE profit at tax-payer expense.
The Coalition Against Pilgrim Pipeline will be at 1 Bergen County Plaza in Hackensack today (March 29) at 1:30 pm to deliver over 1000 petition signatures to Tedesco asking him to rescind survey permission NOW. The clock is ticking, we have a chance to stop this with your help.

If you can’t join today’s petition delivery, you can still take action!

  • Tweet @BergenExec James Tedesco asking him to rescind the survey permit for the Pilgrim Pipeline.
  • Call his office at 201-336-7300 and ask him to rescind the survey permits for Pilgrim Pipeline today.

Thanks for being a part of this!

  1. For what it’s worth, here is the response I got after contacting Bergen County:

Their stance is that they can’t participate in the proceedings and decisions that follow if they don’t allow the surveys to happen. True?
