Water Walk for Life, March 4-11

An 8-day 90-mile walk for water/pipeline awareness, in particular the Pilgrim Pipeline & SPECTRA-AIM in our region.

Anyone can join the walk for a few hours, or a few days, or just come to an evening potluck, hear speakers on local issues. Volunteers also needed for transport shuttles.

Event is in alliance with The Ramapough-Lenape Nation, Food & Water Watch, CAPP, 350.org-NJ, Indian Point coalitions, Green Party/Essex, Resist SPECTRA-AIM.

Organized by the Grafton Peace Pagoda, walk is being led by Jun-san Yesuda, a well-known international activist & Buddhist nun.

The opening ceremony for the walk will be held at Waterfront Park, 200 Middlesex Ave., Carteret, NJ from 10-10:30 am.  All are welcome to participate in this interfaith ceremony led by indigenous leaders in our region.

NOTE UPDATE: NEW LOCATION for the following

On the evening of March 7th from 6pm-8pm, we will have a potluck and guest speakers at the Ramapough Lenape Community Center, 189 Stag Hill Road in Mahwah, NJ   Stony Point Center in Stony Point NY.  The event will feature a presentation from Ramapo Riverkeeper Geoff Welch.  Meal tickets can be purchased there.
